Don't know about you; but i so much miss those days , when things were as they were meant to; free and smooth-sailing.
It was no surprise that former reality tv (BBNAIJA) star ; Bisola did a song on that .
Those old times ; you could buy kwuli-kwuli (a local Hausa cookie) for 50 kobo, and bubble gum for ₦1.
You could walk up to any store with just ₦10, picking biscuits and sweets and still have a reasonable balance left.
I could remember our close-door neighbor back then Mr charles Okoro , who; at one time sent me to buy him certain things with just ₦100 , and i still brought back balance , Simply because money then was of great value.
How i miss watching Superstory of those days on N.T.A , so interesting & educating was it ; that me and my kid brother always had to sneak out of the house at night on Thursdays to go watch it; since we had no Television of our own then.
N.T.A, A.I.T , R.S.T.V ; were all our neighbour's TV and remote_controlled Binatone Antenna could get , yet we still managed , at least they aired important programs ; unlike what we see these days.
"I wish " to go back to those good old days when Ice cream was sold for ₦20 , When one Maggi Bouillon cube would be enough for a pot of soup/stew , it has so lost its magical touch , that people prefer using other seasoning cubes instead.
So Orderly were we, that Bicycles , Cars ;had , and maintained its own Lane during traffic ; and also ; few road mishaps occurred , unlike now ; where everyone seems to always be in a hurry.
Those good old days when we watched more home-made movies than foreign ones.
How i so much miss watching Clarion Chukwura's movies , especially the Adventure-filled "Egg of Life" , where she played the role of a chief priestess...; not to mention Pete Edochie's part in "Things fall apart" , kenneth okonkwo in "Living in Bondage" ; as well as Regina Askia and Ayo adesanya in Action-packed "Most wanted".
AYO ADESANYA
REGINA ASKIA
Those movies entertained and taught us so much; plus how good the Actors/Actresses were in playing their respective roles.
Even though we took pictures with Old Cameras; and not with Advanced ones like we see today; we can atleast boost of how original the pictures were when printed; unlike mordern-day copies that spoil Overtime.
When Planta and Blueband Margarine were the most preferred Bread sprays ; because of the quality they brought to every loaf of bread they touched ;today's Blueband margarine is far from what it used to be.
''Yes" ; I agree , things were a bit backward, but we can't take away the fact that they were so well organised and had quality.
